Industrial Relations functions: Ensuring harmonious working relations Provides guidance and
interpretation of the HR Policies & Procedures Manual In negotiating Union Contracts Settling

Achievements
• Signing of an agreement with JPS major union partners on eliminating a benefit with a liability of
approximately $1.2 Billion JMD IN June & July 2019
Lead JPS Wage Negotiating Team in 2015 leading to historical signing of a three (3) year contract
in two (2) sittings.the This have never been accomplished in the history of Company, thereby
concluding to the rates approved by Finance
• Implementation of an Employee Assistance Policy
• Implementation of a Canteen Management Policy
• Implementation of a Communication Protocol
• Signing of a Terms and Conditions of Employment for New Employees for the Union of Clerical
and Administrative Employees (UCASE) and the Management Bargaining Unit (MBU)
• Implementation/Roll out of the National Health Fund (NHF) applications which have resulted in
approximately forty (40) applicants
• Successfully hosted the Quarterly meetings with the Unions
• Training of Job Evaluation Committee to value jobs internally
• Implementation of Vacation & Sick Leave buy-back programme in 2014 – 2015 resulting in saving
to the Company in excess of one hundred ($100M) million dollars
• Back to school Vacation & Sick Leave buy-back programme in September 2015 resulting in
saving to the Company in excess of eleven ($11M) million dollars
• Successfully implemented an initiative to raise funds for a fellow employee diagnosed with brain
hemorrhage. The amounts were given in cash by the employees and matched by the Company.
This has resulted in raising $1.75M
• Successfully negotiated single digit increase in annual health insurance program, lower that
what has been experienced in recent years by the Company, while improving benefits up to 45%
• IDT Ruling favourable to the Company. The panel ruled unanimously that the dismissal was
justifiable
• Signing of several partnership agreements with the Union
• Successfully hosted three (3) Pension meetings in the Regions
• Partnership with several partners such as Scotiabank, NCB, Proven Services, Jamaica
Automobile Association, CPJ, Digicel, etc.
• Successfully hosted two (2) Relay for Life Runs, PUMA Fortis 5k and SIGMA Corporate Run
• Implementation of a Health & Wellness Management Policy
• Monitored and communicated with the FSC on the successful implementation of an increase to
Pensioners (1 2/3 to 1 1/10) arising from a recommendation of the Pension Trustees
• Implementation of a Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for contract employees
• Conducted training for People Who Lead People (PWLP) for approximately 277 people leaders
(2,344 hours) in JPS in:
