I am an ace communication specialist, an English language guru and a writer/proofreader/editor/ with an eclectic skill set and a track record of excellence in creative conceptualization. I communicate effortlessly across socioeconomic, sociopolitical and sociolinguistic divides and am highly skilled in message targeting – the right language for the right target audience.
I am also an extremely effective Public Speaking coach and have taught Public Speaking or communication related courses at several local universities. My success rate as a speaking coach for persons (local and overseas) who want to improve their public speaking generally or to prepare for a major presentation, is impressive.
My work as a writer and editor has included speech writing for a government minister and the head of an international organization, articles for local and international magazines, newspaper columns and books My writing skills include writing cover letters, resumés, PR and advertising copy, articles, speeches, creative writing and ghostwriting. I have authored and self-published three books on aspects of Jamaican culture and have written and produced seven CDs on Jamaican culture.
My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, a Diploma in Mass Communication and a Diploma in Sociology from the University of the West Indies.
As a Communications specialist is extensive, and I have conceptualized and executed a wide range of PR and Communications campaigns in the public and private sectors. As a behaviour change communication consultant, in 2005 I conceptualized and executed a landmark HIV anti stigma and discrimination campaign, featuring for the first time, persons living with HIV /AIDS.
Passionate about development work, I currently manage an upskilling and empowerment initiative for victims of gender-based violence. As a remedial English teacher, I taught adult literacy at Operation Restoration in Trench Town, taught youth offenders through a CSJP partnership, and teenage mothers at Mary’s Child, a home run by Missionaries for the Poor.
What do I bring to the table? Passion for work, solutions-orientedness, creativity, flexibility, excellent writing skills and a ‘let’s get the job done’ attitude. Do I see obstacles and challenges? Not really … I focus on new ways of solving old problems.

I train clients to become effective public speakers, either for general improvement or in preparation for major presentations. I will also train you to ace media and job interviews.
