Since graduating from Northern Caribbean University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and English (with a Writing emphasis), I have gained invaluable experience for the last 15 years in various areas of the field, including Advertising, Marketing, Corporate Communications, PR and Events. I’ve worked for quite a number of well established creative agencies and other companies located in and outside of Jamaica, in permanent positions as well as in the capacity of  freelance contractor, which has afforded me numerous opportunities to fine-tune my writing, public speaking, project management, administrative and coordinating skills.

Included in the list of companies I’ve lent my expertise to are: CGR, Dunlop Corbin and The Creative Unit owned by the JN Group; COK Sodality Co-operative Credit Union and VMBS; Prodatos Group (a Marketing Research Company headquartered in Costa Rica) and JamaQueParadis Magazine (an upscale lifestyle publication based in Florida, USA).

One of the things I’ve accomplished, which I am most proud of, is that in addition to making an impressive mark in my chosen field, I have also been able to positively impact the lives of over 100 teenage girls, as the Founder & Executive Director of Flourish, a mentorship program I started in 2015, which now caters to boys, through Roar and women, through Flourish Woman. On International Women’s Day in 2018, I was among 25 women The Gleaner’s Flair Magazine featured in a special publication and honoured at an awards ceremony. I was recognized for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Volunteerism’. The article they published can easily be found on the Gleaner’s website.
