Ms. Amanda McKenzie is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (Mona), where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management. Ms. McKenzie is a Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility Scholar and is certified in the areas of Project Management, Supervisory Management and Financial Securities Management. 

 

She has over ten years of experience in the development and implementation of Science, Technology & Innovation Educational Programmes, Entrepreneurship and Project Management. Her more recent work includes the development and oversight of the ‘Enhancing the Export Capacity of Micro and Small Agro-processors using the Cluster Approach’ project, implementation of the Carron Hall Wastewater Treatment System for the Sustainable Application of Science & Technology Project, serving as the lead implementer for Component 5 of the Youth Employment in the Digital and Animation Industries Project (YEDAI) in Jamaica as well as facilitating GreenTech Startup Bootcamps in countries such as Suriname, Bahamas, St. Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis.  

 

Her employment to the Jamaica Business Development Corporation as Manager for the Project Management and Research Department provides her with the opportunity to contribute to the development of the MSME ecosystem. This has built the capacity of individuals, communities and businesses to identify opportunities and initiate new business ventures.  

 

Ms. McKenzie is committed to improving the lives of persons through the sustainable utilization of natural resources and is a member of The Jamaica Institute of Environmental Professionals (JIEP), Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) and the Project Management Institute, Jamaica Chapter. She is also the founder of TecEco Solutions and The Sustainable Livelihood Network.
